With time running out, I have practically everything complete to apply for transfer to Vanderbilt in fall 2013, but I'm second guessing myself.

My GPA is average at the moment, a 3.0 after my first college semester. I'm worried that I won't get accepted since they (mostly) accept people before my next semester will be over, so they wouldn't see those grades until I've already been rejected. I really, really want to get accepted, and I feel like getting rejected once for transfer would hurt my chances if I was to apply again in latter months/years.

Just turn in the application. What do you have to lose, other than the application fee? You might get in if you apply … you will not get in if you don’t. I am sure you can apply again next year & have a shot even if you are rejected this year.

you can send them your high school transcripts too, if that shows better. also, it doesn’t hurt to apply, you don’t have to attend even if you get accepted. it depends if you would be okay waiting till your junior year to transfer, or if you want it to happen this year…?
