do you guys know what you need to be commended for the psat?

about 202. it varies by year.

somewhere around there. Its probably 200 this year. That is my guess.

cool thanks...i have hope ;)

Can you believe this? "Schedule" from Collegeboard..

September 19 NMSC: List of2006 National Merit Program Commended Students mailed to principals

You'll know in May whether or not you are commended - in May, NMSC sends out a letter to the 55,000 highest scorers asking them to name two colleges to be notified of the student's interest and high scores. If you receive this letter you are AT LEAST commended. In early September, the semi-finalists receive a letter telling them they are semi-finalists, then the commended students receive a letter specifically telling them they are commended (usually this letter comes through your high school, so the actual delivery date varies quite a bit).

The cutoff for commended has been going up by a point each of the last 3 years.

it was 202 last year, up from 200 the year prior

Fall 2002 test cut off was 200; Fall 2003 test cut off was 201; Fall 2004 test cut off was 202.
