To be takes APs or not to APs?

currently a sophormore but i need help on my schedule..:/ should i take AP World History with US history(2 histories :S) or no Aps but with US history along with other hard courses...and I cant take any other APs besides World history or AP US but which i hate.

Ask around and find out which course has a better teacher. In my experience, History is one of those classes that can be incredibly boring or really amazing, all depending on which teacher is more dynamic. I guess it matters so much because most History classes are based on lectures and taking notes. You could easily zone out and fall asleep if the teacher is boring.

APUSH = USH for meh...
er... APUSH isn't that hard... (I'm almost done with the first semester of APUSH, technically called USH, but w/e)

My AP United Stated history class was extremely hard. The majority of the class struggled A LOT all throughout the year. Our teacher didn't assign much "busy work" (aka grade boosters) so our grade in that class relied solely on our exam and essay grades (which were 12 grades each and very hard to pass with a good grade). I'm lucky that I am going to pass the class with a B, but not the same can be said for the rest of the students that are scraping it with a C or maybe even a D... :/

That said, take APUSH only if the subject really interests you and are willing to put in 110% of your effort. You can always take Honors US history which i've heard is a lot easier, and still looks good in your college resume.

AS colormehappy said, it all depends on the teacher. I hated, and I mean HATED history until I had AP World History this year. My teacher was amazing and I learned so much from him. It was a hard class but I managed to get an A and so did many others. APUSH has a record for being harder than World (at least at my school). Maybe it's because USH requires more studying and memorizing of cold hard facts while World is more analytical.

Basically, ask around and see what others say. Then think about if you really LIKE history.

oops I forgot to mention history is my favorite and arguably best subject sorry. I also had an amazing teacher this year! She taught me how to write!!! D+==>A (really proud of myself)
