<p>It’s like saying: “How do I become ‘X’” Where X is any multi-million dollar profession.</p>
<p>Or: “How do I win next year’s American Idol?”</p>
<p>One thing fund managers aren’t are people who simply ask and act on the opinion of others. How about looking into the websites of the types of “funds” you’re interested in and reading the management bios. These are not positions people apply for, they’re recruited into them. I think you’ll find most managers worked their way up either as successful traders or analysts, and have academic backgrounds all over the place.</p>
