So I'm back from taking my last SAT ever... yaaaay!!! gets ready to burn all SAT books on bookshelf

But... I think I asian-failed it. It was bio. And yes I was retaking it for the second (and last) time. 730 was my first score, taken freshman year. I'm trying to decided whether or not I should cancel it by overnight mail. Would it be extremely ugly if something lower than a 730 popped up on that official score report? I think so... unfortunately, that might be the case. So I'm in a rub, and I have no idea what to do. Help?

I have a 800 in Math IIC, 790 in Chem, and 800 in Chinese. I blame my parents for making me retake bio... ugh.

Wow yeah that sucks about your parents. you probably should cancel so that you can just keep the 730, which is good enough for any school. AND then the schools won't see that you were obsessive enough to retake for a 730. I'm Chinese too and I didn't retake a 760 for bio.

the 800 Chinese is almost completely useless for you because you're probably already fluent. Therefore, they will probably only look at the math, chem, and bio. if you want to apply to really top colleges then i suggest taking bio over to do better.

That was what I was afraid of... I've had different people tell me different things about Chinese. Some say that it doesn't count, and it all goes to your academic index calculation. Others say that it's totally bogus since I am fluent in Chinese, and my last name probably shows that. I just wish I felt more confident about Bio. I haven't been hearing people talk about if it was hard or easy, so I can't even guess at the curve. This feels like deal or no deal...

The Bio curve is TERRIBLE, because so many people take it. Seriously; for Physics, you can get 15 wrong and get an 800. Get just 3 wrong on the Bio, you're down to a 770 already. Maybe that's not the exact curve, but it's d*** close. Trust me; do NOT rely on a good curve to snag you a Bio 800. You will be severely disappointed.
