To current students: question about engineering

I posted a thread about 3 weeks ago about switching majors. I'm currently enrolled as a chem engineering major at Viterbi, but I might want to switch out to biological science at CLAS due to the calc and physics courses.

I've an impression that most students who enroll in the engineering courses are really good in math and physics, and it's making me really nervous because I'm not good in either. I guess I'm just not a very strong student in both subjects, but also because both my pre-Calc and physics teachers were horrible last year. I'm doing okay in Calc AB right now, but sometimes I'm still struggling with concepts and stuff (I guess I can say I'm just an average student).

I just did a search on CC about engineering at USC and people have been saying how Calc II was really hard. Now I'm seriously having major thoughts about switching out of chem engineering, but I'm not certain yet because I love chem and I feel like I will be regretting it if I don't at least try it out.

I don't know if this applies to a chem engin major or a bio sci major, but I also want to go to a pharm school and have a career in that field. Does anyone have input on this and about the math and science classes @ USC? I'm also wondering if the students enrolled in Viterbi are geniuses or if they are average students who struggle a little but really want to be a chem major like me.

Please reply >.< thanx in advance

If you decide to stick with engineering, rest assured we are not all geniuses. There is a lot of support and tutoring available, and you can always change your major later if it turns out to be too hard - people change majors all the time, and at a place like USC it is not a big deal. Read some more about pharm school if that is your goal - what are the prereqs?

thanx =) I think I'm gonna stick with it. I'm going to ask the advisors on orientation day some questions and see what happens.
