was it cool?

*wilderness, even

I'm not a current student, but I went on a trip my freshmen year and guided three subsequent trips. I had the time of my life on each and every one of them.

Most WR trippers will tell you that the experience is one of the best things that could have happened to them before orientation, as you get to learn a lot about yourself, your peers, Cornell, and life while having ridiculous amounts of fun. Most trippers tend to stay close during all four years on East Hill, and often strong friendships and romances develop after just four or six days in the woods.

Its only good if you do it for the right reasons

If you wanna meet friends before orientation, make sure you know some people in the beginning...this isn't the kind of thing for you. I do not talk to anybody that I went on this trip with, nor would I really want to. You'll get to know enough people from your floor, classes, frat, clubs, etc...

If you wanna learn more about yourself, experience the beauty of upstate NY, and learn how to really rough it, you'll have a ball

i didnt go to this program but i agree with mcdcoops...the idea of being lifelong friends is really ridiculous...

i don't think the aim is lifelong friends, i think its more like meeting people before Orientation just so you'll know somebody. At least then you'll know that you won't be eating alone. All the people I heard who did said that they loved it. Same thing goes for the other summer programs

you can eat with your suitemates/floormates

i say do the program if you want to (not b/c your parents are making you)...it wont hurt...
