To current students-why did you choose BU?

I never said the dorms smelled, that was someone else...I said for 50 g's a year, they should have nicer dorms.

Maybe the huge partying/non-intellectual/not diverse scene is reflective of West Campus and CGS, I dont know--I know it's the same at Warren.

From what I experienced, the people were about as uncultured, unintelligent and as far from intellectual as possible.

I think it has something to do with those dorms being all freshmen. The maturity and work ethic typically doesn't kick in for most kids during their first semester in college. They need a kick in the ass to get going. Keep in mind, all these freshman are just months removed from high school. They are just kids. So the partying, uncultured atmosphere is bound to exist. It isn't the school. It is the people that you happen to be surrounded by. I am a junior and pretty much everyone I know parties wayyyyy less than they used to and spends much more time studying and working now that they prioritized a bit.

I guess, but I knew all the Sophs and Juniors on my floor and they all partied just as much.

Well, why do you think they chose to stay in a dorm full of freshman?

They wanted a quad? Didnt want to deal with finding an apartment? Could be a lot of things.

Dorms at many, many schools really suck. The BU dorms don't really suck, but they're variable, both in quality and size of rooms and social life.

A lot of kids come to school and want to have fun. It's possible to have fun at BU, especially if you're not pre-med or something that requires a ton of work. The same is true of a lot of schools.
