Hello! So I know I want to go to Medical School, but I really have no idea what to major in...
:(. I had pondered on Biology, but now I'm not so sure (just because there are SO many bio majors, it's so common, and I'm not really 100% sure that's what I want to major in). This upcoming year will be my senior year of HS, and applications are in the Fall. I don't really have strong like/dislike for anything (which is bad!). So what do you think I should do? Declare Biology as my major or undecided?

From what I've heard for people in my situation...

Cons of declaring major:
-If the major you want is impacted (say Biology at UCSD), and you decide later that that (Biology) is what you want to go with, transferring into that major will be insanely difficult.
-Your heart isn't 100% content that that's what you want to major in.
-If the major is impacted (Biology at UCSD), your chances of being accepted is narrowed.

Pros of declaring a major:
-If you decided to stick with the impacted major (Biology), you would be in it already.
-You can plan an outline of how to go about surviving college.

Cons of declaring undecided:
-It's extremely hard to transfer into an impacted major.
-You may (...I would) feel very uneasy starting college without a defined course of action.
-You will waste A LOT of time fishing for a major (that might/might not matter to Medical schools)

Pros of declaring undecided:
-Declaring undecided will increase your chances into a school with a tight acceptance rate than if you were to declare an impacted major (Biology).
-You may, hopefully, find a major to settle on.
