The top 3 that I have right now are Stanford, Caltech and Brown. On a bunch of ivy websites it states that ED applicants have to meet the same criteria as RD applicants. Would I have a significant advantage applying ED to Brown / SCEA to Caltech?

Chance at:
Brown
Stanford (Legacy)
Caltech
NYU
Univeristy of Chicago
Boston University

thx for everyone's help!

bump (10char)

You are great!!!!!!!!
I love you~
I will suggest you to ED`

Just focus on certain ec's and write great essays; you'll do fine in admissions! Also, ED would give a noticeable advantage of being accepted since its binding. The only advantage of applying SCEA is you get to know your result earlier.

thanks king and hyn! I'm leaning towards ED now .. anyone else have an opinion?

Wherever you do ED, make sure it's your #1 choice and that no matter what you'd go if you got accepted. If you feel like Brown would be that kind of school...do ED. If it's Stanford, go ahead apply ED there.

You could do SCEA if you aren't 100% positive if you will attend, but you still like the school very much. Your stats are great, and I can see oyou getting in to either or all of the schools. You just need to decide which school has the best fit for you.

Thanks sak09. I'm leaning towards SCEA now, because I'm really not 100% on where I want to go. I just don't want to do RD and then get rejected because I didn't apply early .... that's what I'm scared of...

anyone else? chances? comments?

bump! more opinions please..

why do you people even bother.

your great.

Yeah, it's true. Applying ED does have a slight advantage. But you have to make sure that Brown is a school that you'd LOVE to attend. And financial aid is usually not all that great for ED applicants.....this may or may not be a concern to you. Your stat looks excellent and I think you have a good chance at all of those schools. It's your choice :) Good luck!!
