To Do List » Read The Pickup by Nadine Gordimer

All new students will be reading this book to prepare for the in-depth discussions that will take place in August during Orientation. Look for your copy with study questions (these will help you write your essay) in the mail accompanying your New Student Orientation Guide.

Transfer students have to do this too?

yeah all new students! it's not a big deal tho... you'll just have to write a 1 page (?) essay on it and attend the discussion!

this year's book selection sucks

we have to buy teh book ourselves?

no they should have sent it to u...if they didnt maybe u don't have to do it.
The book is pretty interesting. don't stress it though, it really is not a big deal, really

Did any GT recieve this assignment?

did anyone already get it?

I've only heard of 1 gt mentioning it (Acerbic)...but I sure haven't

yeah, acerbic will be done reading it soon, actually. who here wants to help me pressure her into sending us a copy of her beloved finished work?

haha I was just curious to see what the book was about lol it says "all incoming undergraduates" so I naturally assumed that Gt's fall under that category as well, but I haven’t received anything official that says we have to do the assignment... we'll just wait and see if they send it with orientation stuff!

oh and I saw this, a list of things we should be receiving in the mail, and if you look down under where it says "new student orientation packet" it includes the Pickup, mailed out June 22...
