Hey,
This fall I will start applying to law school and basically want to make sure that I have all the bases covered this summer. Please add/modify this list + give any suggestions about anything in the law school admissions process

(In no particular order)
Take LSAT (In sept)
Do personal Statement
Get different LS applications
Prep course/Prep work
Register for LSAC
Get Letters of Rec.

First, Step #register with the LSDAS, which I think you are referring to as lsac. This should be done EARLY before the backlog.

Second, transcripts. Some universities take a few week to process these. So, if you are applying first semester--and you should--get those transcript request forms filled out as soon as junior year grades are all in. Check that there are no errors before having them sent.

Third, some LSs require dean certifications. For some students at some UGs, getting these is a problem. Figure out who does it at your school and if there's only one person everyone has to use--not uncommon--get your request in EARLY.
