To drop or not to drop....?

I'm taking this class and it's horrible. The professor's lectures are horrible and the readings are equally bad. Because I did not take the optional midterm the final will count for 100% of my grade. I'm pretty lost in the class and very very nervous about the final. I saw the midterm and it looked brutal; I would have failed it for sure.
Anyway, I'm a junior and want to apply for law school. My GPA is over 3.5 so I don't want this class to screw me over if I get like a C- or something. How bad will it look on my transcript if I drop the class this late in the quarter? Am I better off just taking whatever grade I end up with?
I was a transfer student and have 1 W on my community college transcripts.
What should I do? Any advice would be appreciated!
Thanks as always.

just drop, 2 Ws will not hurt you in the long term

Awesome.
3.5 is a very good GPA.

So you guys don't think it will matter that it is this late in the quarter?

no it will not matter, at ucla your allowed to have 3 late drops your entire time there. GO get a petition andhve the teacher sign it.

and by the way, i dont even think its "that " late in the quarter yet.

its not even week 7., i think you can still drop on ursa this weekend.

EDIT: just drop it if you think you can't get a B.
