I'm considering on applying to JHU ED for Biomed Engg. I would like to know if I have a chance or not, because if I have no chance, then why bother apply?

Thanks

i dont know about your chances, but if you're 100% sure that you want to go to jhu for bme, then why not ED? it sure wouldn't hurt you.

well, i guess i could...but still $75 + $$ for DHL service, ..but i guess i'll apply anyways as JHU is my dream,..

this post has a great title...

jose1,
not exactly the reply i was lookin for, but appreciated ^_^..

Taj, if it's your dream, just go for it...

Are you willing to go to JHU if you just get into a normal major, and not BME?

aVenger,

no, i'm keen on only BME.

I don't think your chances of being accepted to BME are very high...but that is just an arbitrary comment coming from someone who has absolutely no connection to the admissions proceess (refering to myself)...

However, since going to JHU for BME is your ultimate dream, I would apply. If you don't apply, you will probably go through life wondering what would have happened if you had applied and been accepted...

But if money is really a severe problem, I don't think it's worth it...

do they have a later ED (later than Nov. 1)?

ED application date for JHU is Nov. 15th.

I find something contradictory:
taj: but i guess i'll apply anyways as JHU is my dream,..
aVenger: Are you willing to go to JHU if you just get into a normal major, and not BME?
taj: no, i'm keen on only BME.

So this means that JHU is NOT ur dream...BME @ JHU is the dream ur referring to? If so, then apply early, if you don't get in BME but into the school, u can always reject JHU at that time and go for other BME programs in other schools. As far as financial concerns, that would be up to you and ur parents.

But just remember, even if you get into the BME, you will still be a part of the JHU community... are you sure you wouldn't mind attending the SCHOOL as well as the program?? cuz I don't think Adcoms would like it very much to have a dormant, antisocial, nerdious bookworm at Level D of the library 24-7 :P

xtina,

i chose JHU not only for its well recognized BME but also other reasons. I want to do extensive research in the field of BME and I know that JHU has great UG research programs. I also find the school, its facilities, campus, etc very appealing and I feel like its THE right place. However, BME is my passion and I dont think I can sacrifice it.

P.S.: I'm anything BUT a bookworm. If i were a bookworm, my stats would definately be better..
