To Emory Students: Which colleges are Emory's Peers?

Hey,

I am a bit curious about this issue... I wanted to know the opinions of Emory students... which colleges do you all consider to be Emory peers (academically, reputation wise etc.) Disregarding rankings and such, what are all fo your opinions? Do you consider some Ivies peers? Top Southern Schools? Thanks

In my experience there has been a great deal of overlap between Vanderbilt, Northwestern, Cornell, Duke, and WashU.

The Fiske Guide to Colleges cites Duke, WashU, UPenn, Vandy, Georgetown and Northwestern as Emory’s overlaps.

Cornell, Rice, Vanderbilt, Northwestern, WashU, Brown

Officially, it’s Brown, Cornell, WashU, Case Western, UChicago, Vandy, and Rice.

UPenn may or may not be on that list. Notre Dame as well.

Emory’s peers are actually decided by their Freshman entry survey; the schools they list freshman’s entry into are the schools they consider peers—or competitors I suppose.
