Hey everyone, congratulations on getting accepted to UCSD! Some important advice: fill out your preliminary housing application IMMEDIATELY. I'm not sure if it's up yet (obviously I can't see the website), but there should be a clear link to it on the website that shows your acceptance.

Whether UCSD is your first choice or last choice, APPLY FOR HOUSING NOW. It is completely free and if you do end up going here, it will determine whether you get a double or a single or a triple (eww) for campus housing next year!!!

I applied for housing the day after I got accepted and am in a double, however MOST of my friends got stuck with triples - you don't want to be in a triple.

Go do it right now if the link is working for you! It should say "Housing Application" somewhere on that website!

when i click on the “housing application”, it says
“Housing will be accepting applications for newly admitted transfer students beginning May 2, 2009. Please come back to this site at this time.”

RIGHT, no strings attached! At least that’s how it was last year, it should be the same but probably double check the instructions on the housing app to make sure!

leung: are you a transfer student? I have no idea how it works for transfers, only freshmen.

What if I accidentally started the acceptance process? I didn’t send in my SIR yet, but I accepted the provisions of admission and residence status. Does that mean I now have to go to UCSD or is it okay as long as I didn’t submit my SIR.

evera - Yeah that’s what’s supposed to happen haha, you don’t select your room preference right now. It’s SO easy but everyone who waits will be really bummed out later on!

Can anyone answer my question. I’m so nervous. Even though SD is my top choice, I didn’t mean to start my admissions process yet. I’m going to get a better finaid package from UCSB and I still have to see if I got into other schools.

Yea I can’t seem to apply for housing. It just says “Housing will be accepting applications for newly admitted transfer students beginning May 2, 2009. Please come back to this site at this time” like a previous poster said.

lol, how did u guys get it to work? Did you guys already submit your SIR?
