NATIONAL SCHOLAR OF HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLARS: 2006
AP SCHOLAR

i really need some guidance. as we all do. i hope everyone good luck. seriously.

Of all the schools you listed, I would say you'd have the highest chance at Cornell. You working 16 hours a week combined with your strong academics is very impressive. I'm not sure exactly whether the schools are reach/match etc, as I am also going through this process as well, but you sure do have a chance, if not great chances at some of these schools.

PS: scratch the Who's who thing. :P

Highly doubt HYPC. Rank, ECs and SATs are marginal for ivies. the lower 2 ivies are possible, but not probable. Get safeties.

Everyone should always have a safety that they can be comfortable at. Ivy admissions gets totally random and unpredictable with their zillions of over-qualified applicants. LOVE THY SAFETY.

what is your unweighted GPA? This that is what the colleges is going to look at because there is already going to be an expectation that students applying will be taking the most rigerous courses their schools offer.

if ur saying ur president of the entire key club(entire nation)
then u stand a really good chance

prepare yourself for the honest truth.....

1) SAT scores are a little low, a 700 at Harvard and Princeton is at about the 25th percentile; for those who don't have a hook (legacy, minority, recruited athlete) they need AT LEAST a 1500 (math + critical reading) to stand any chance

2) National Honor Roll and Who's Who Among HS Students are both scams; national scholar might be a scam

3) you need 3 SAT IIs

4) you need a hook, ie something that will make you stand out among thousands of other applicants to those same colleges

5) we need to see the classes you've taken over the past 3 yrs to make a more accurate judgement about your transcript

6) YOU NEED A SAFETY SCHOOL!!!!!!

verdict:
harvard, yale, columbia, princeton: keep on dreaming.....
brown: less of a reach school, but still a reach
cornell: easier to get into than brown, but still a reach

u need something special... "hook" as the dude above said

my advice: dont be a prestige w-hore
ull end up getting a whole stack of rejection letters and be miserable at some school u didnt really wanna go to.
just find schools u like instead.
