To newly admitted students...

<p>can you guys, if you don't mind, tell us about your profiles? such as GPA, SAT's, extracurriculums, etc.? especially engineering students, because i really want to know how much i should do to get in to cooper union.</p>

<p>i feel like i may have been a fluke, but here goes:
GPA: 4.8/5.0
SAT: 2150
Extracurriculars: competitive irish dance, varsity track & field (indoor and outdoor), habitat for humanity, gaelic society, doctors w/o borders
Lots of awards for irish dance, a bunch for academics (nhs, etc.)

Cross country (team captain 2x), track and field, speech and debate, NHS president, tech work at local theater</p>

<p>I got in for fine arts..
GPA (weighted): 3.85/4.0
SAT: 2080
Mostly art and literary/creative writing related activities. I received a lot of awards and enrolled in many programs/classes (at NYU, Columbia, and Parsons New School for Design). </p>

<p>They said to me in the open house that ultimately it depends on how much they feel the applicant truly loves what s/he does. Though of course, this is for art..I don't know what they tell the architecture/engineering students.</p>

<p>I'm a black belt in karate. Aside from that, I don't participate in any after school activities.</p>
