Hi, I'm currently a sophmore. I really really want to get into nyu! Currently, I have about a 94 gpa. I'm involved in a couple of activities, such as math league and cross country. I took the PSAT and got a 195. I have taken about 7 honors classes so far and I'm currently taking one ap class. What are my chances please? Thanks!

Very low. You have no SATs so they will have higher standards for you (someone told me they don’t require SAT scores, but stronger applicants generally have SAT scores anyway). You haven’t compelted junior/senior years so they will question your maturity if you want to apply 2 years earlier than most kids do. They will, however, like the honors/ap classes if those are the hardest offered at your school.

My suggestion: hold off applying until you’re a senior, prepare well for the SATs, and you’ve got an excellent shot.

Oh haha I wasn’t planning on applying now…I just wanted to know maybe in the future? Next year I will be taking about 3 more ap classes and more honors classes too, and I will take the SAts next year too. sorry for the confusement. Thanks!

Practice for the SAT, keep your grades up, and take a few more APs as a Junior and Senior. If you do this, I think you will have a good shot. Good luck!

Whoops … sorry.

Anyway, assuming you have a 1950 SAT, it’s going to be tough. I recommend a 2100+ if possible, that will greatly help you.

Thanks! I’m working on my sat scores

Sounds good, check by the SAT forum here you’ll get lots of advice there.
