to premed or not to premed

For year and a half I have been a premed majoring in (bio)chemistry and probably math. I go to a top school, I have covered most premed requirements, my GPA is 3.99 and I have almost no research experience. However, lately, I have been feeling like I am in rut and thinking about dropping it all (maybe just finishing the premed requirements) and majoring in computer science. The thought of having to go to school for 4-6 years after u-grad has been urging me to give up. What should I do? If I don't get into med school, I'd have to go for a PhD, which I would probably be decent at but very likely not enjoy much. Basically, if I don't get into med school, but make it as a PhD, I would have to wait many many years to make the money that I would be making in 2.5 years coming out with a CS degree. Not to mention what pain in the ass geting tenure could be... Moving around... Teaching at crappy colleges...

On the other hand majoring in CS would somewhat hurt my chances when applying to med school and will definitely leave me with limited research experience. ANY advice would be appreciated.

I don't want to hijack this thread in any way, but could you do(what sorts of occupations) with a major in computer science?

I think majoring in cs and still applying to med school wouldn't hurt too much since they don't pay attention to your major anyhow and since you have a nearly perfect GPA.

bump bump bump

-If it's about the money I would say not to go to med. school.
-And what I've been reading from what those say around here is that what you major in doesn't matter.
-And think about this: your gonna be alive until your about 90ish, so what's a little bit of extra studying really gonna do to you in the end.
- As far as research? Hell, I don't know what to say I'm only a senior in HS.
- But yeah, from what your wrote, it sounds like deep down inside you want to go to med. school.
