my situation
I have 1 D (AP), 1 B, 1 C(AP), and 4-5 A's.

I'm attending Rutgers U for Engineering

That 1 D worried me a lot.
So I talked to my counselor and he wrote me a letter explaining that the 1 D doesn't explain my work ethics and such.

BUT.

he told me that the letter only brings attention to the admissions officer and should be used as a last resort if Rutgers decides to contact me. he also mentioned that 1 D should not really hurt me.

Because I'm leaving for the entire summer on Tuesday, I need a decision by Monday whether or not I want to send this letter.

Would I need to send this letter or is it unnecessary?

Is there any way to avoid this? In other words, is someone in your family staying home? Is there a friend who can help you? Is there any way to contact the post office and ask that the mail FROM Rutgers be sent to the counselor, so he’ll send the explanation if you get mail from the Uni?

Okay, here’s what I would suggest (if you have phone/email):

Wait if mail comes. If it does, have your father call/email you the entire thing. Then discuss it with your counselor by phone/email, and he can send it in.

If you unfortunately do not have phone/email regularly, have your father talk to your counselor if the mail comes. I am sure that the two together will make the right decision.

i cant see you getting revoked, for whats its worth.

i’d only send the letter if they say something. if they hint toward being revoked, i’d compromise, like asking if you can attend and be placed on academic probation for a semester or two. that being said, dont worry – you’ll be fine.
