hello,
Before I go back to my math work :-(...I'd like like to say "yay"! You guys and gals are applying to Williams! I was a prefrosh host for both weekends, and had a great time while I was doing it. If you guys were here during the second weekend, you may have caught my "midnight tour" of campus.
I'm a part of the Asian minority. It appears that most of the people on this board are minorities of the Asian diaspora as well. One of the great things about Williams that I can not say about the other schools that admitted me is that by and large the Asians at Williams don't clique together.
Another great thing is its size. Many Asians in general it seems want to go off to big Ivy U.. That's great. However, if I had ended up at the ivy I was accepted to, I don't think that I'd be able to do all the things that I've been able to do here. Here, I've been an actor in a theatre production (yeah Frosh Revue!), helped start an Asian dance group, and also been active in the Asian Theatre Project, as well as serving on the boards of several minority groups. Yesterday, I had the opportunity to have dinner with one of the admissions officers here to discuss Asian-American enrollment. The week after Thanksgiving, the President of the College, Morty Schapiro, is coming to talk to the Minorty Coalition about how to better serve minorities on campus. Heck, my friend who can't go home for Thanksgiving has been invited to the Prez's house for dinner!
You guys should seriously consider coming here if you get in. Everyday, students make a difference, whether it be in the classroom or on the playing field. Also, a sixty million dollar theatre is going to be up and running by the time you guys get here, and the 25 million dollar new student union is on the way. It is amazing.
Speaking of amazing, I know that I've mentioned this here before, but Williams really does do a great job with financial aid. If you get in, you'll be able to graduate without a lot of loans and such.

Well, there you go. Have a great time. I look forward to seeing most of your faces next fall. ;-)

hey,
I haven't checked this website out in while.... Congratulations on your acceptance! I look forward to seeing you here next year!
