To resume, or to not resume? That is the question.

I plan on using the Common Application for the majority of my applications next year, but it only provides a limited amount of space for extracurricular activities, work experiences, etc. If I have an overflow of personal information that isn't all that spectacular but would be nice to include, should I attach a resume? Here's the predicament that worries me: I get rejected because an equally competitive candidate had a resume and I did not. If anyone could attach or cite a qualified source on the issue, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks a lot!

Good question-- I too would like to know the answer.

I think it depends what information will be on your resume... If it is something particularly impressive... then it ought to be included...

Otherwise... you should not send one in as it comes off as arrogant and foolish. (Especially when many universities specifically tell you not to send a resume to them.)

What information will you be putting on this hypothetical resume? Perhaps that information can help us give you better advice.
