To retake or not to retake

So, I just took this month’s SAT with essay. I did pretty decent for the most part. However, I absolutely bombed the reading section ( I lost track of time at left a passage almost completely blank). So, my possible score range is 1390-1410. My original plan was to take physics and math level 2 subject tests this November (planning on going to engineering school), but now I am having second thoughts. I know that November is the last chance you can take it for most schools. So, should I retake the SAT?

I also planning on applying to the mid tier UCs, Cal Poly SLO, Purdue, UT Austin, and some others.

The schools you want to apply to do not need very high SAT scores. I wouldn’t recommend retaking it because a score of 1390 would already be good for these colleges.

I would take the Subject tests in November and if you really want to take the SAT again in December.
