Next year I'm contemplating whether i should take AP Chemistry or not. I hear the teacher is horrid and her tests are very difficult. I really like chemistry, so i would like to take the class for content but i don't want to be stuck with an inadequate teacher with the potential of leaving with a bad grade and/or less of an interest in chemistry than i had before. I have a pretty reasonable schedule (AP World History, AP Physics C, and 4 honors courses) and I'm participating on the varsity soccer team if that helps any of you make any suggestions. Your thoughts?

I think you’ll be okay. You ‘only’ have two other APs, so the load won’t be too terrible. Plus, you said you really like Chemistry, which makes the class a whole lot better.
Re: the bad teacher; There’s a drop period at my school in which one can drop classes that they feel they aren’t prepared for/ won’t do well in, and it won’t show up on their transcript. Is there something like this at your school? You could always try the teacher out for a few weeks and then make your decision.

For my school too, you can stay in a class for a week or so, then drop it if you so wish without consequence. How about try out AP Chem and see whether you like the teacher? Sometimes what you hear from others may not be how you feel about the situation yourself.

Out of curiosity, have you checked whether double science is possible schedule-wise at your school? Sometimes it’s hard for the guidance department to fit in the labs and still schedule you for the other honor classes, etc.

My school does not allow students to drop classes.

You should take it if you really like Chemistry as much as you say you do. Just make sure you get a good grade, and study on your own for the AP test if your teacher is inadequate.

AP Chemistry is completely different from regular Chem. Well, the way my school did it was that regular chem ended on the section of Stoichiometry (s/p?). Then AP Chem was started on solution stoichiometry, then equilibrium, molarity, etc… It’s like going from Geometry to Trig in my opinion.

Chemistry is something that has always interested me but it’s not my favorite subject in school. My school doesn’t allow me to drop AP courses so once I commit to them I’m in them for the year.

If the tests are hard wouldn’t that prepare you more for the AP Exam? I was in a similar situation last year, my teacher was very hard and I averaged a B for the year. The exam was cake though, I think I got a 5.

^Exactly same situation right here
