Okay, so will your interviewer have a copy of your say, Common Application or application to the school before the interview, so that he already knows your background?
Or, are we just complete strangers to them?

Bumpity-bump! Any thoughts?

It depends. For schools where you can interview before submitting your application, the school usually just furnishes info like your name and address, which usually doesn't change even if you have submitted. Some schools call you about it only after receiving all materials, so it's logical that they might share info like how strong of a candidate you are.

It depends on the school and/or in the case of alumni interviewers the policy of the regional alumni committee.

It's wise to bring in a brag sheet or resume. If the interviewer doesn't want it, that's fine. If they could use it, it is to your advantage to have one on you.

If the interviewer is an alumni, which they mostly are, they have not seen your application, nor will they. However the admissions committee wants the interviewer to get information that is not on your application or to flesh out the details of what's there. Our job is also to find out if you're a jerk or not, so be nice!
