You don't think that there's a decent sized percentage of people that would support or reccomend the use of drugs other than marijuana, such as mushrooms?

You can go to parties, have fun, and be sociable without booze. In fact, you learn how to be more social and outgoing without needing to go fetch your "confidence in a bottle." You realize that at the workplace, during the day, and most weeknights you will be sober. Even if you love booze, you will probably be sober 95% of the week.

Booze becomes a social crutch for MANY people.

If you don't believe me, then if you're a drinker, I challenge you to go to a party without touching a drop of booze, for nothing else than to prove me wrong. THEN we'll see what a social person you've become.

I'm not on some high horse nor care if others booze up nor look down upon them. I'm just saying non-drinking has its benefits as well.

There was some recent research that indicated social drinkers have a higher average salary than non drinkers, because drinkers tend to be more social and out there making important connections in life.

I know that study, and by "social drinking" they are definitely not talking about college partying. There's a big difference between joining in on happy hour at a nearby bar after work and getting so plastered you mistake your roommate's laptop for a urinal.

lmao...love it.

My beef is not with people who live drug free and don't preach. My beef is with people who feel the need to enter these threads and act condescending towards people who do use drugs. If you want to warn people on the consequences of excessive use, fine. But don't start the "Oh, I don't think, I think it's a pity that so many people waste their potential on such a lower class activity" BS.

Yesterday I had my first drink. ever.

Why did I do it?

Well, up until a few months ago I was adamant on never ever drinking. I asked myself "why do I need it?"

Well, I don't need it. But I did it out of curiosity, and I had responsible fun with it. I did it with careful moderation, and with people I TRUST.

Just have fun, responsible fun, sober or not. =)
