to this year's Cornell freshmen...

how is Cornell so far?
tell us anything!

It is alright. The workload is several levels higher than what I had in high school though.

These people are just now completed with, or completing, their first wave of prelims (exam period) & papers, perhaps not the optimal time to be asking them this question if you’re seeking the “steady state” condition.

Have an awesome fall break! Nothing better than October weekends in Upstate New York.

^^

Exactly. And that is why I am heading up this weekend.

Was going alright until prelims

Now I feel like a sack of sh_t

It’s pretty funny that one of the few days where it’s 70 and sunny without a sign of rain is also the day Fall Break starts and everyone leaves. But I definitely love Cornell. The only issue for me is having to sort through all the options with your academics, social life, “what you want to do with your life”, and all of that. Nothing is decided for you here. That said, it’s a great place to make all of those decisions! And, c’mon, prelims weren’t THAT bad. TBH, all of the hype about everything being so difficult and stressful made it much worse than it actually is.

I agree. Prelims aren’t that bad…mostly because I didn’t take any actual prelims. XD

Did anyone else think the campus looked absolutely beautiful yesterday? Gorgeous fall colors on a warm, sunny day.

A trip home really reinforces how beautiful Cornell is.

^^I am so overdue for a visit…It is our favorite place to be this time of year.

Very disappointed in my prelims but otherwise, things are going well. I wish Ithaca had better bus service though - why is there only one bus that takes you near Wegman’s and Wal-Mart and all that? It also runs kind of infrequently.

But yeah, academically, it’s just a matter of staying on top of stuff.

b/c most people who needs to go there got cars.

because cornell/ithaca hates big box stores…even wegmans :D

I’ve found the bus service to be more than adequate. The route to the mall, which includes a Target and a Tops grocery store that you’ll fine to be much cheaper than Wegmans, is only about 10 minutes long (as opposed to like 45 minutes to WalMart/Wegmans) and runs every 10 minutes all day on Saturday and Sunday (Route 70 at the stop behind RPCC) or every 30 minutes all day during the week (Route 30 at the Balch stop). That’s a pretty convenient schedule IMHO.

I certainly hope that the same date in 2011 will be equally beautiful :)

^^planning a special occasion at Sage Chapel, perhaps??

Wow, I didn’t get it, you could be on to something there…

its a Saturday…I picked September for our Sage Chapel event but October could be lovely also…reception at AD White House, maybe?? I suggest a special photo in Pan’s Garden…

right on :)

Except the Willard Straight terrace and great room instead of the AD White House.
