To Those Accepted

Accepted: Wellesley, Amherst, Bowdoin, Skidmore, Macalester, Northwestern, UIUC
Waitlisted: Harvard
Rejected: Yale

Deciding factor: I don't know!!! It's pretty much down to Amherst, Bowdoin, and Wellesley now (maaaybe Northwestern, but I think it's a little too big for me). I am growing kind of concerned about the all-girls aspect of Wellesley, but I have concerns about Amherst and Bowdoin too... I think the visits will probably (hopefully!) do it for me. Then I plan on making a rubrick. Or, possibly, just picking one out of a hat :P

sailormmmvj, are you going to SOC? if you are and since you're located in CA, will you be flying by yourself? i think i will be and i'm kind of nervous b/c i never have before. i always had a sibling or SOMEONE to make sure i didn't get completely lost.

Is anyone flying to SOC on April 22rd at 9pmish from Long Beach Airport in Southern California? I got the free trip thing from Wellesley, so I scheduled my flights... and the lady told me that someone will be on my plane to go to Wellesley..

hmm,
I am arriving at 5:00am ish on April 23rd. LoL!
A Wellesley rep is picking us up.. I think.. at the airport?
that's craaazy.

anyhoo.

Flying alone is fun fun fun!
You get to act all adulty : )

hi,
is anyone flying out from Burbank, California?

all "adulty" is hard when you look like you're 12! i always get questioned.

is anyone flying from san jose? can you please hold my hand or else look like you're an adult so i won't get stopped by security? ugh, i'll be taking the red eye though.

dinosaur: im flying into boston from long beach on the 21st lol.

jenniferlp18: oh wow! umm i guess your name is jennifer? so, right before boarding, i will be like "where are you jennifer!" hahaha : D umm do you have aim? lol this is cool hahaha. wow cc-connections are amazing.

OMG!!! That's me! I just found out today that I'll be flying at insane hours of the night. How AWESOME :)

That's so weird. lol

me too. red eye! and then i have to connect in las vegas. but i'm actually going to pennsylvania first and then boston.

hi toffee!
i am going to SOC, but i'm not flying there, because i'm going to a thing at smith first. but i'm flying back on that tuesday, april 25th. are you?
and don't worry, flying is one of my top fears. so i know how you feel :(

how did you get the free trip?

I've never got to go on the red eye. It doesn't take long to get anywhere in continental US when you're from the midwest. I'm doing the same thing as sailormmmvj! I'm SO ready for the long weekend!!

I got a free trip thing too and I'm not really sure how... there was a letter in my admissions packet. Kinda nice :)

sailormmmvj (<--- one of my fav childhood cartoons ever), i'm going back 4/25 too, luckily on a direct non-red eye flight. yikes. 4 days of missed school right before APs.

i do hate flying, but mostly it's the landing and takeoff. ugh.

College06: are you kidding? Wellesley's library is AMAZING!!! by far the best one that i have seen at any college and believe me i've seen most of the liberal arts colleges on the east coast. its open, spacious, bright, and you can eat! i dont know if you saw the whole thing but you should def give it a second chance before you write it off

I will definately be going to Wellesley's Open House and hopefully then, I will get to take a closer look! I'm glad that I had the wrong impression =)

Who said she didn't like the library? I LOVE Wellesley's library. And for many MANY reasons.

First of all, it's not noticable at first glance, but Wellesley's library has so many resources available that is quite unusual for an undergraduate institution. For example, we have a book arts lab headed by a fantastic person who is a pleasure to be around. Workshops on book binding, paper-making, marbling, etc. etc. are offered throughout the year. Clapp library also has a conservation facility with WINDOWS, a beautiful, big space where I've worked for the past year and a half. Furthermore, we have a special collections where all of the rare books and manuscripts are held, and it is a VERY good collections.

It's not just size that makes a library great. It's the resources it contains and the staff that works in it who loves to help Wellesley students. It's an extremely well-endowed library and also an awesome place to work! I highly recommend it :)
