Definitely visit Special Collections. The librarian is wonderful, and the collection really is stunning, thanks to substantial donations. The collection holds ancient papyri, a charter signed by Emperor Otto III, a leaf from a Gutenburg Bible, countless books of hours and Bibles, a great selection of artists' books, and a beautiful (recently rennovated) space. There's almost always a display/exhibit up, and a visit will introduce you to the other best parts of Clapp: archives, and the book lab.

Oh please, message me when you get your $ info. from Duke. My d got about the same amount of aid from each school - you probably will too.
Do you have a preference? thanks for responding to my post.

I like some qualities about both schools. I will list them.
Wellesley:
-the campus is absolutely stunning. It's absolutely beautiful
-You can take classes at Harvard and MIT
-The teachers will challenge you and they are EXTREMELY dedicated.
-It's all girls school so there are no boys distractions. However at the same time, if girls want to meet boys, then they can go nearby colleges.
-Wellesley is ranked as top 4 in liberal arts schools in the nation.
-The Wellesley girls are very politically active.
-Boston is ..such a nice city...
Duke:
-large school. you get to meet more people.
-North Carolina-warm
-top 4 in the national university
-BEST BASKETBALL TEAM!!!
-best medical school.
-it's non liberal arts (stronger science program)

:(I like both schools. I am leaning towards Duke but it's very hard to turn down 36 K.

A non liberal arts environment does not mean a stronger science program, especially with top tier LAC's. It just means that you're not likely to receive career-specific training.

oh jeez, i can't really make myself seem more mature at college if i'm growling dinosaurraaawr complete with t-rex like claws in the hallways. dilemma, dilemma.

boy shopping! boy shopping! let's go! and then get pancakes afterward. sorry, craving.

Wellesley gave me the most financial aid out of the 5 schools I'd consider going to. Duke gave me the least amount, so that rules it out pretty much, and I don't want to be with my sister all my life.
I narrowed it down to Wellesley and Emory, just Emory because it's closer to home, in Miami.

I think I will go to Wellesley though. Hopefully I can still have a social life :-/

:/at least you heard from duke on financial aid....:(they STILL havne't sent me anything on financial aid yet and they claim that they've sent it. Sigh, I give up on duke.

um, i'm a transfer who just got into wellesley, and.... can i come boy shopping at harvard with you guys? and i'm in vermont right now, so i can bring the maple syrup....

For Shaganov! Congrats on getting into Wellesley! Yay!!!
If you are a transfer student, are you going to join us for the C/O 2010?
Boy shopping at Harvard... haha if you wish, wishabee, we can just shop at MIT!

Let's meet on Sunday and get some pancakes... and eaaat them with the maple syrup from Vermont!

wait, are you guys really going this weekend? that sort of... just registered with me. i think i'm going to go and stay with a friend's friend on friday and saturday and was planning on going into boston on sunday. nope, dino, I'm a frosh at UVM and if I go to wellesley will be in the class of 09. we all really should meet up. i'm going to go tree tapping for that syrup now...
