Do you think it's worth it to re-take the SAT 2 in January, even though the scores may not arrive in time? I had an 800 Writing, 740 Lit, and 640 USHistory in November, but I don't even know if they got those scores in time for EA Review. Anyway, I think I'll take Math IIC, Literature, and French. Will this make a difference? Also, have any of you called the admissions office to find out the specific nature of your deferral? Lastly, how did you interpret the statement in the deferral letter that they "cannot state unequivocally" that there will be a 10 percent acceptance rate of deferrals - do you think this means there could also be a higher acceptance rate?
Thanks!

By the "we cannot state unequivocally" that there will be a 10% acceptance, I think stanford just plain doesn't know because they've only had Early Action for a year or so, so the stats aren't that reliable.

As for your November SATIIs, I have no idea. I emailed Stanford around Nov 20, to ask if they will see my scores in time for their decision, and they said:

We cannot guarantee you that the November scores will be included in the evaluation.

Best,
The Stanford University Office of Undergraduate Admission

So..... shrugs

I'm thinking of calling Stanford up once they're not so busy to ask about my scores.

if you can do well on math 2c, i think that can only help your chances.

acceptance rate wise, i guess it really does depend on this year's deferral pool in comparison to last year's.

yup, I got deferred and i'm takin the SAT I's one last time January 22nd.

I'm planning on NOT sending the scores to Stanford and my RD schools automatically. Instead, I'll see my scores first, and if they are an improvement (better than 740m, 700v -- my current score) I'll rush-send them. I hope Stanford can get them in time. If not, oh well.

I'm thinking of taking some more SAT IIs, but are we sure that the scores will be considered?

they should be, the letter that came with the deferral asked for grades and "any new test scores." the date given is march 1 on the optional form, so plenty of time!!!

Excellent point. In that case I'll be retaking two SAT II tests and taking another one. Bother...and here I thought I was done with tests :/

Considering I've taken the SAT I three times, I won't take it again. My SAT 2's are solid, 770, 740, and 730; I could possibly take Spanish but I'm unsure of what my result would be, plus I'm sick of giving College Board money...
