UCF is on the rise I believe, and in 4 yrs a UCF degree will be worth more than an FSU degree…Just my opinion.

& a highly regarded graduate program is irrelevant; everyone knows you shouldn’t go to Graduate school in the same university you received your bachelor’s from.

“UCF is on the rise I believe, and in 4 yrs a UCF degree will be worth more than an FSU degree”

That rumor is simply not correct.

UCF only has a $116 million dollar endowment - whereas - FSU has a $550 million dollar endowment. Also FSU is about to kick off a $billion+ Capital Campaign.

UCF has maybe 1 ranked Graduate Program - whereas - FSU has around 30.

UCF was not allowed to join in on Tuition Differential - whereas - FSU is also allowed to charge 40% more in tuition. This will lower FSU’s Class-Sizes by almost 10 lower than UCF.

UCF has very few prestigious alumni - whereas - FSU is better than University of Miami, yet below UF in this department

UCF is in a crappy athletic conference - whereas - FSU is in the ACC (which is still worse than the SEC)

“UCF has very few prestigious alumni -” - It’s a young University, MUCH younger than FSU. UCF est. 1963; FSU est. 1851. A century ahead, give it time.

" UCF has maybe 1 ranked Graduate Program - whereas - FSU has around 30."
Graduate programs do not matter as I mentioned before! Nobody is going to graduate with a Bachelor’s from UCF & go a get a Master’s from UCF as well.

“UCF is in a crappy athletic conference - whereas - FSU is in the ACC (which is still worse than the SEC)”
Athletics only add to the college experience, not to your degree. So this is irrelevant.

Not sure with your motivation in trashing UCF, sobick??? I’m sure students/alumni there with disagree with you. Glad you were happy with your UF experience. Leave it at that.

There are many reason for choosing one undergraduate school over another. My child, recently rejected from UF, has chosen UCF over FSU because it is a better fit for her. In terms of getting into graduate schools later, its all in the GPA and GRE/LSAT/MCAT’s(not the undergraduate school title). FSU is a terrific option but it is not for everyone. My friend’s son is graduating from UCF this May and he was already accepted to six law schools (still waiting on some) including U Miami and NYU.

I know this is off topic, but Seiclan..do you by any chance know what your friend’s son’s gpa and lsat score was, getting into NYU law school is like my dream..

If you were surprised by not getting into UF, then you may qualify for the Honors College at UCF. I have a Gator son, so I’m not dissing UF, but everyone I know (students AND parents) who are attending the Honors College at UCF are extremely happy with the overall experience and quality of education. If you are comparing options, I recommend you check this out before making the final decision.

Also, if you are in Florida comparing your options, once you have all your acceptances, go visit again. You’ll see yourself in one of the schools, and a year from now you’ll be “blooming where you were planted.”

That does not make sense: NYU Law is ranked 4th overall, and UMiami Law is ranked 70th.

stats for NYU’s Median: 3.75, and an LSAT of 171. - whereas for UM: 3.47, and an LSAT of 158.

One offers Big Law anywhere in the USA, and the other is confined to primarily the South Florida market. I think your friend’s son got some bad pre-law advising.
