Congratulations. Just wanted to pass along a little tip that might come in handy, even if you are unsure at this time if you will attend USC.

In your admissions packet, you received a booklet on the dorms and housing choices at USC for freshmen. TIP: The housing office at USC will be filling next year's housing assignments in the order in which new students' housing applications are filed. The earlier date one signs up, the better chance of getting the dorm and room type you most want.

Since you do not have to decide to attend USC in order to register for housing, this is a great opportunity to get yourself into the cue.

The only downside is you must pay $45 to register. This fee will not be refunded if you decide to withdraw to attend another university. But for $45, you can hold your place in the housing priority.

Pretty cool.

One last note: You will be selecting your preference in dorms when you register. They give you space to list 5 in order of preference. BUT, you can go back and adjust, alter, change up, rearrange, and just plain re-do those choices all the way up until early May. So the advice here is to sign up with any dorm choice (if you don't already have a clue where you want to end up) just to get yourself into the line as early as possible. Then study up on the dorm choices, search old CC threads, and go back to your housing app and make changes.

Last note: you will be asked to select a screen name. That name will be seen by other students when they are trying to find/match themselves to roommates. So pick a screen name you can live with. LOL.

Best of luck and fight on!
