i eat anything and everything, and i got a 232 on the PSAT... i don't think they're related xP

That's amusing...I have omelettes before standardized tests as well! And thats the only time I ever have them, pretty much.

eat chocolate

Chocolate makes me sleepy...hehe.

Or get sugarless green tea. I drink it regularly with my AP/SAT exams. I scored a 238 on the PSAT because of it ;)

Bought a bottle of iced coffee into the test, sailed through it :P.

But honestly, I doubt your scores is going to get affected by what you eat :P.

I'm hearing alot of proteins and things that give you energy... so I'm guessing it helps you stay focused during the test?

Thank you, everyone, for your input! I do realize this is kind of a silly question, but you never know...

i think it's smart to consider every aspect of your performance on test day. it's not a bad question. but i don't think food is gonna be a deciding factor.

Well, food will be the deciding factor, if you eat something thats going to give you the runs during the test.

Keep in mind, you should eat and drink something that is light, contains A LOT of sugar (do not substitute this with energy drinks), contains proteins and fats (if you're a vegan/vegetarian, sorry), take a Vitamin pill (I suggest Thermagram-M), drink anything except water - water will make you pee since it is easily dissolvable, but don't drink something very hot like tea, drink either gatorade or one of those Arizona green teas.

protein, carbs and fats, and water
NO SUGAR
and yes, i eat very healthily

I actually have a dinner/breakfast combo that I’ve had for all of my SAT, SATII, and PSAT tests. I’ve done each twice. Anyway for dinner I have chilean sea bass with some kind of vegetable like spinach and for breakfast I have an omelette. I got a 237 PSAT and a 2320 SAT.

im xc runner, i eat like a banana, oatmeal, and some yogurt before the test.

I never scored 2300, but did anyone ever have those energy shots or Monster before SAT? I hate caffeine other than in sodas so I never had them, but it’s one of those things that people always wonder… I would imagine that it has a counter effect?

^ that’s ■■■■■■■■. Last thing you need is too much adrenaline when you’re solving easy math questions. You’ll make more dumb mistakes than you can count.

And when the energy effect wear off you’ll fall asleep reading really long passages about some random thing like mythic biotech dragons.

I think I scored 2250ish so I’m not qualified but I woke up at 5:30 and went on a run to wake my body and mind up. It was only few miles so it was something that woke me up but Didn’t tire me out.

Foodwise- I guess anything that helps blood travel to the brain but I just ate normally- eggs and orange juice

I think the biggest thing you can do the day of is be confident/cocky. It’s already a hard test. You don’t need for it to get inside your head. And don’t think about it too much. You’ve prepared and now you have a chance to show your capabilities

I agree.
It’s commonly used in many college students though. Monster, coffee, and so on.
5:30 running? Hmm, I’m personally opposed to any exercise on the day of the exam AND the day before because you could get tired… And when you are tired, you will fall asleep.
And mythic biotech dragons? Haha.

Lol that mythic biotech dragons question sucked on the last SAT.

I see what you mean but I have to do this before I wake up fully. Then again it’s different for everyone. It doesn’t tire me out because I run every day. But if you aren’t a xc/track whore like me, even 10 minutes of jogging will loosen you up and help you relax

snickers :P!

haha i like OP’s question much! it has been 3 years but i wonder if it worked for OP…i am goin to take my sats in jan xD
