to those who are already in nd

any last minute tips or ideas before leaving to nd? anything i should know, be aware of or prepared for? anything u guys did and would've done differently? thanks

my biggest suggestion would be to not overpack. if you're in one of the older dorms, your room will be VERY small. you can always exchange your clothes if you go home for breaks, which you probably will (at least in the fall).

aghhh im in st. ed's!!!! :'(

I agree on not overpacking (but moreso because you will bring a lot of stuff you really don't need). It is hard, packing for college is kind of something you have to learn through experience. Just think about what you use during your daily life while you are in class and then consider bringing those. Also, be sure to get in touch with your roommate(s) so you don't bring multiples of anything. 1 stereo (no microwaves) 1 TV, 1 Xbox 360 (hopefully), you know the deal.

I'm in St. Ed's, and believe me, we have some very spacious rooms if you take advantage of the high ceilings by building a loft. Also, as everyone has been saying, do not overpack because your space is limited. Without repeating what the posters before me have said, I would invest in a good set of headphones or speakers (better yet, both). Laptop speakers do not cut it, and believe me, if you want to maximize space, leave the boombox at home and do everything through iTunes.
