To those who complain about Tuft's Syndrom

Fingers crossed for SportsSon!!!

Will someone explain Wait listed by UC San Diego but Accepted by WashU?

UCSD had Tufts Syndrome?

lol…nice catch cahsparent ;)

With many applicants applying to many, many colleges these days, you’ll have wide variety of decisions in there too. Guess how this student’s decisions came in:

WashU
Columbia
Brown
Georgetown
Rice
Wesleyan
Northwestern
JHU
UVa
Oberlin
Vanderbilt
Notre Dame

12 schools. 6 Acceptances including 3 with really nice merit scholarships. 3 rejections. 3 WL.

Here’s a hint at the craziness: flat out rejected from JHU & Rice. WL from Columbia & Brown. You figure out the rest.

D Wait listed at WashU but Regents Scholar at UC Davis while you have one that was Accepted at WashU but no Regents Scholarship at UC Davis.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-california-davis/1304594-uc-davis-2012-regents-scholarships-2.html#post14033866

All that seems to matter is if an Admissions officer likes what they see in your Application

Does anyone have any actual statistics for the last few years about the number of candidates on Wash U’s wait list, the number ultimately accepted from that list, and how those numbers compare with other schools ? If Wash U really does wait list 10,000 and then accept just a few from the wait list, what is the point of the wait list? College admission officers tend not to act so randomly.

Agree totally that demonstrated interest should be a huge factor in an admissions decision. Colleges do not want moping students looking to transfer.
