I was accepted into the Carroll School of Management, and while I was pleasantly surprised (was expecting a rejection the entire way), BC is and was not my first choice, for a number of reasons, despite its excellent reputation.

I feel slightly guilty though, in some ways - a girl at my school got waitlisted, and she was absolutely devastated. She had been talking about getting into Boston College for as long as I could remember - since ninth grade. I feel bad for her. Given my current preferences for colleges, I seriously wouldn’t have minded swapping decisions with her, with her getting in and me getting waitlisted instead.

How the rest of you guys? Is BC seriously your first choice?

While I am OVERJOYED that I got into BC, I’ll be honest. Notre Dame is my first choice. However, living just north of BC is a nice comfort because now I know that if I get rejected from ND, I have the closest thing to it and I’ll be much closer to home.

With that said, I will be in shock and awe for the next 48 hours at least.

I got in early action and while it was a nice feeling to be accepted to my first school I most likely will not be attending due to the lack of financial aid…i mostly got loans and the deceptive work study

depends on FA. if its cheaper than Cal i’ll probably end up going. it’s kind of sad cause Cal is honestly my first choice but i do love boston a lot

If I can figure out what my financial aid is, it will (hopefully) be one of my first choices; however, if I have a similar situation in that a friend would die to go, and I only sort of like it. I wish I had the option of trading places with her…

Nowhere near my first choice. I got into Northwestern yesterday, and am still waiting on USC [first choice] and Penn [which I probably won’t get in to, but is still my #2]

I get what you’re saying, though, because my one friend really wanted to get into NU but was waitlisted, and when I visited today I couldn’t help thinking, "Wow, this really would be ____'s perfect school "

But no. I don’t like how conservative/white majority BC is, and will pretty much only consider it based on financial aid. Like only if they make it close to free will I go there.

Yeah I was the only person from my school to get into BC so I didn’t announce it to anyone and only told a select group of people. I feel bad because one girl was really crushed by the rejection.

I have a lot of respect for BC but I’m already in Swarthmore, WUSTL, Northwestern, Wellesley, and UNC-Chapel Hill. I wasn’t expecting to get into some of these schools, but now that I am I won’t be attending BC.

got into CSOM, but financial aid will decide if i go or not. i already have USC business in the bag, and honestly, im leaning towards there right now…or i was until i got CSOM today

some of you are crazy. BC most definitely is not a safety for anyone, they pick and choose the student body specifically, anyone can get rejected just like that. One of my friends had great SAT scores, excelled in a few extracurriculers, captain of varsity soccer 3 years on top of great essays, recommendations and hard AP courses. Waitlisted.

As for me, I got in and its my number 1 slash 2. Williams was my first choice, but I was rejected

Just like how Williams was your safety, right?

haha."

“carsonee, don’t flatter yourself.”

I’m… not kidding/lying/ego boosting…

Based on the kids my school consistently sends to BC, unless there was a big fluke, I was getting in. I realize that’s faulty logic, so don’t even bother trying to poke holes. I ended up getting in so it doesn’t matter. Anyone who wants to disagree with me just assume I"m an idiot who got lucky and dismiss me. End of that discussion.

oh, and I didn’t get into williams… like, duh. ;)
