What were their conditions for acceptance? I'm curious because they have more stringent conditions--at least for biological sciences major--in terms of having to have a certain GPA for each section of classes. Most of the sections require a 2.5 overall. However, if you received a C the first semester of a class, and received a C in a class currently enrolled that is in the same section of classes the semester before transferring, how would that play out?

I got in for econ and it says

"Remain in good standing with an overall cumulative transferable grade point average of at least 2.80 with no grade less than "C"."

I think getting a C is ok as long as you can get a 2.8

Yeah, i would have a 3.3 overall with a C, but a 2.0 for that section.

^ Have you already been admittted?

No :B

I got into UCSD and Santa Cruz, so I'm pretty sure Davis will let me in.

Well goodluck to the both of us!

doesn't say anything about GPA in specific sections

Transfer students are strongly advised to complete as many preparatory courses
as possible for their major before enrolling at UC Davis. Preparing well for the
major helps students move efficiently toward graduation.

Transfer students MUST complete courses comparable to the following UC Davis
courses with a GPA of at least 2.5 for each of the three groups of courses with
no grade less than a "C":

1. Mathematics 16A,B,C or 17A,B,C or 21A,B,C
2. Chemistry 2A,B,C
3. Biological Sciences 1A or 1B or 1C

If only one course among the Biological Sciences is completed, the GPA must be a
"B" grade or better. It is strongly recommended that students complete the
entire series. If students complete two or three Biological Sciences courses,
they must earn an overall GPA of 2.5 or better among these courses, with no
grade less than "C".

It is strongly recommended that transfer students complete courses comparable to
the following UC Davis courses with a GPA of at least 2.5 for the group:

Organic Chemistry 8A,B or 118A,B,C

To be a competitive applicant, you must have a minimum transfer overall GPA of
2.8 or higher.

Transfer students must also meet UC minimum transfer eligibility and admissions
requirements. For details return to the previous screen. Click on, "UC Transfer
Admissions Eligibility Courses" and then select a UC transfer admissions
eligibility area.

what are the impacted major in Davis?

bumppppppppppppppppppppp

well i was admitted for a non-impacted major and there were no conditional terms of my admission (none stated, at least). they just told me to please visit the campus and take a look around. also that i have until 11:45 PM on June 1st to submit my SIR.

What, really? There must be.

ah, I found my conditions.

I need to pass my Philosophy 5 class (equivalent to English 103).

I also have to send UCD my HS transcript, if I chose to attend... is it just me, or is that odd? I didn't know UC's can request your HS transcript. Anyone else have a school request your HS transcript?

Yea, all UC campuses ask for a high school transcript to be sent upon registration to ensure that the applicant actually has a high school diploma.

As far as my conditions go, it says I need to maintain a 2.8 and complete at least 13.5 quarter units my spring semester. I am a polsci major if that helps at all.

that stinks. that means i have to go back on that sorry campus and stand in line with the babbling brats of the itty bitty titty committee...

and pay those smug jerks 3 bucks for a transcript that they can just print out and seal in an envelope. but for some reason, i need to come back 3 days later for it.

You can't call them instead?

no, for official transcripts, I need to go there, fill out a piece of paper, pay the $3.00 and show them ID, to prove that I am who I say I am.

I looked at my classes up there on the Davis admit website and noticed that quite a few of them were not certified transferable even though according to my community college they are UC transferable.

Ektaylor, actually it depends by UC if they need a high school transcript. For example: "UCSB does not require High School transcripts from transfer students who have sent an official IGETC certification to UCSB. UCSB will continue to request your HS transcript until an official IGETC certification has been received by the Office of Admissions."

yeah, that's how i thought it worked. IGETC certification = verification of high school diploma...

oh well, don't really plan on going to Davis anyway.
