i know it's entirely my own personal decision, but just looking for some input/advice if anyone has any.

Currently at George Washington, entering my Junior year. Accepted to Emory University.

I plan to study abroad in the Spring of this year no matter where I go. This would probably mean I will need at least an extra semester at Emory if I do transfer.

The prestige does not really matter to me, I had originally applied to transfer because as a Math major, I was disappointed with GW's program. I have since considered staying at GW and changing to a Statistics major (GW has a better program here).

Lately I've just been thinking that it may be fruitless for me to transfer so late in this process with the intention to study abroad. If I stay at GW, I will only be there for another three semesters anyway.

Sounds like you are right, unless there are financial or other reasons for the transfer which you don't mention in this post.

Unless Emory is far cheaper for you for some reason, you would be paying for an extra semester. You've found a major which works for you at GW, which solves your original problem. Transferring involves a lot of adjustment, trying to meet people etc.... doesn't seem worth that dislocation absent a strong motivating factor.

As you say, it is your decision and you have two good options. But perhaps hearing someone else's thoughts will help you firm up your own thinking.

Agreed with Andale that staying at GW sounds most logical. If studying abroad is a certainty, it does not make sense to switch institutions where you will assume a greater financial burden, and lose an additional half year of time. You don't sound too displeased with GW to the point where you're miserable, and that is the one thing which might have otherwise justified such a move.
