OOoooooooooooo

While I really appreciate this post, something you need to specify is that logging in ALONE doesn’t indicate acceptance, because MANY of us can log in, but only because the system believes we are summer sessions students. The better MyUCLA indicator is a white band and/or your major at the top of the MyUCLA screen with the word “admit.”

HOWEVER, this has proven to be a VERY unreliable indicator. For the past few years, there have been many, many students who could NOT log into MyUCLA but were admitted, and just as many who COULD but wound up rejected from UCLA.

I don’t want to be a downer, but I don’t want to provide misinformation to current and future transfer applicants.

Usually, you don’t get to see “admit” until right before they release admissions decisions. Last year, people were able to see the word “admit” about 30 mins before they got their acceptance.

Correct! There are applicants who currently see “admit,” and there were students last year who did or did not; ultimately, it wasn’t always certain that those signs indicated acceptance. This is another reason that MyUCLA is an unreliable medium for admissions indicators.

So if mine says

“MyUCLA services are limited to undergraduate, graduate and professional students who have been officially admitted to UCLA, UCLA Alumni, UCLA University Extension students who have petitioned for concurrent enrollment, UCLA Summer Sessions students, UCLA instructors, and current UCLA staff.”

I’m rejected?

No! See, this is why this is not a good thread. Many, many, many - INNUMERABLE, in fact- students who were ACCEPTED last year were never ever able to access MyUCLA. Access does NOT confirm acceptance. Do not worry!

A better indicator is your finaid information in URSA.

EDIT: And, actually, it is the EXCEPTION rather than the rule that students are able to log into MyUCLA, and most of us can only do so because we messed with summer session stuff.

But the thing is, I didn’t apply for any financial aid. Should I still be able to see something in URSA?

@uclauser what do you have to say in regards to seeing our financial aid summaries and tracking in our URSA? previous threads highly suggest it indicates acceptance. And I can’t login to myUCLA, am I simply rejected?

Sounds like the biggest ■■■■■ ever…

@caboy26, if you did not submit a FAFSA, then there is no way to get an indicator from URSA as to whether or not it is likely you’ve been accepted. you, like me (no FAFSA here, either) will have to wait until Friday to find out.

@philo (and uclauser, for that matter), read through this thread: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/uc-transfers/1135334-2011-ucla-transfer-applicants-decisions-only-thread.html and you will see how many admits were unable to login to myUCLA

Lol got trolled hard
