I'm an intended Economics major that is currently on the wait list for Econ 101B. After speaking to advisors though they mostly seem to reiterate that 101B is a heavily impacted class so the chances of getting in are slim.
So, my question is, would it be worth dropping one of my phase 1 classes to wait list Econ 100B too? Adding the class now would give a position on the wait list that is far above the 10% of class size threshold that people usually talk about, so what are my chances of getting in?
Although I was set on the mathematical track for the 100/101 series, I realise now that I really do not want to spend another semester without doing Economics... any thoughts?

I’m enrolled in the class now! Definitely no reason to be so pessimistic about wait listing…
