Duke 10 chars

wow we have many valedictorians, i think like 7 or 8. but the schools they got accepted to were:berkely, ucla, princeton, stanford, yale, harvard, brown, johns hopkins, cornell, university of chicago.

this is from '04- #1- harvard, #2 john hopkins, #3, yale, #4 Stanford, #5 Northwestern, #6 Stanford, #7-#20 went to university of chicago, more yale, duke, harvard, stanford, northwestern, columbia, penn

i went to a bigger school but #1-#50 basically all got into all the schools they applied for.

i got into uc berkeley out of state, ucla out of state, northwestern and uiuc and i was ranked #105 so go figure.

13 of your classmates went to UChic?

What school? If you don't want to name -- private I assume?

We have 12 people accepted in our graduated class, about half of them going (including myself). The whole grade is only about 120, so thats a pretty strange figure. Public school too.

Our valedictorian was offered a full ride to Chicago and something nice at Brown.

The person everyone thought was the valedictorian (had highest gpa in the school soph. and junior year) was accepted early to Yale. The person who was"named valedictorian "just recently had been deferred early to Yale .Then in rd round he was accepted to Yale, Harvard, Brown, Columbia, etc.

Valedictorian:
Accepted to Brown, Wesleyan, Middlebury, Dickinson, U of Vermont honors
Waitlisted at Williams
Denied at Yale and Princeton

Going to Brown

my high school's valedictorian this year (i'm a freshman in college by the way) was accepted to swarthmore, williams, pomona, and tufts.

she is right now deciding between swat and williams.

waitlisted at brown and columbia

I found out some more about other students in my school today:

The Sal from my school is going to Georgetown. I don't know anything about other schools, except that he was rejected from Princeton.

3 student

Accepted by RPI w/scholarship.

Rejected by MIT and Caltech.

Probably going to RPI.

4 student

Accepted at Columbia, UPenn, UVA, Cornell, NYU Stern, and Villanova.

Waitlisted at Harvard

Rejected by Princeton

Doesn't know where he's going yet. Probably either Columbia, UVA, or Cornell.

So far (at least for the top 10% of the class), some of the more notable acceptances were:

Columbia

Cornell

RPI

NYU

Georgetown

American

Villanova

SUNY Binghamton

SUNY Stony Brook

Fordham

UPenn

Boston College

Boston University

Northeastern

Babson

Lehigh

Lafayette

UVA

val got into mit and princeton...dunno where else.

Ha Ha. Ours got into the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I think that is where she wanted to go. Other kids got into more prestigious schools such as Swarthmore, NYU, Washington U in St. Louis, and such and I got into UChicago.
Our numbers this year seem rather skimpy compared to other schools.

Last year, our val ended up going to the University of Missouri-Columbia. He is pre-med, and he got accepted into this special program for pre-med students.

I'm the val and I got into:

Brandeis University
Rhodes College
University of Texas - Austin
University of Oklahoma

Man I think my school is frowned upon in admissions or something, because both the val this year and val last year got rejected everywhere except in state (Florida).

I'm Sal and I got waitlisted at Yale and Harvard, but into Caltech, but rejected from MIT. Might be because our school is a minority magnet. Everyone accepted to elites was a minority, and neither the val or me are minorities (we're asians).

1-MIT, Duke; 3-Cornell, Duke; 4-Yale, Princeton; 6-Penn, Duke 7-Duke; 8-Harvard, Duke; 15-Duke; most others state school (Univ of Oklahoma)

1- USC 2- Stanford 3- Cal 4- Stanford 5- Brown

Funny how extremely random that is... #2-5 > #1

The Val is going to Stanford. Not sure where else she is going. The Sal is going to Brown, and the other one is going to Berkeley.

Our Valdictorian got a full-ride to Columbia and NYU, she is attending Columbia.

A few I've heard about:

Accepted CalTech, Northwestern, and WashU - unsure where attending
(plus some lower ranked others with full ride offers)

WashU and Notre Dame - probably WashU
(plus some lower ranked others with full ride offers)

Rice and Unv of Maryland-CP (full ride) - undecided

Harvard, Princeton, Columbia, Dartmouth, Cornell, Duke, Emory

Penn, Cornell, Northwestern

MIT, UChicago, Cornell, Duke

Penn, Georgetown, Cal, Northwestern, Emory

Some people got into Duke, Vanderbilt, UNC, UCLA, NYU, Wellesley, among others. Most are going to state schools.
