To Which Schools Did Your School Valedictorian Get Accepted?

2008- val: harvard, sal: harvard
l2007 - val: harvard (but waitlisted at MIT, where he really wanted to go), sal: dartmouth
2006 - val: harvard, sal: joined army
2005 - val: yale, sal: ???

Our Validictorian got into Harvard, MIT EA, Duke, Columbia John Jay Scholar, Vanderbilt, Tufts…but wait listed at Hopkins and Penn??? …Weird…Will happily be attending Harvard next year.

Our Sal. is going to Tufts…wait listed everywhere else.

Our val was accepted to Wheaton (Illinois, not Massachusetts), Muhlenberg, Gordon and UConn, but waitlisted at Middlebury and rejected at Williams and Princeton.

Our sal got into WPI and UConn, and he was initially waitlisted at RPI, but when they took him off the waitlist, they offered him a scholarship. Weird.

Accepted into:

Duke (from waitlist)
UC Berkeley College of Engineering OOS
U of Washington Honors College
Pomona
Oregon State University Honors College

Waitlisted/Rejected:
Columbia
Stanford
Harvard

He will attend Duke

Our val this year is going to WUSTL and sal is going to Notre Dame

Downey High School in Cali

Both VAL and SAL got into harvard and yale, but the Val goes to Yale and the Sal goes to Harvard

Mister val got into Berkeley and UCLA. He got a full scholarship to Berkeley, but decided to go to UCLA because that was his top choice.

We had 3 valedictorians this year.

-Ohio State
-Ohio State
-Naval Academy

Needless to say, my school isn’t too competitive. :(

08: Val- MIT; Sal- MIT
07: Val- Harvard; Sal- MIT
06: Val- Harvard; Sal- MIT
05: Val- MIT, Sal- not sure,

MIT and harvard seems popular choices :)

we do send quite a few to ivies though

Heh, I think my school sent someone to Cornell once? Our students are great, but we just can’t compete on the larger scale.

Val: Stony Brook
Sal: Syracuse U.

Notably, among the 6(?) tied for third, one is going to UCB and another to Notre Dame. I know the one going to UCB was also accepted to NYU, rejected Johns Hopkins, if rumor mill serves. Unfortunately, I don’t really know these people very intimately so I can’t accurate represent their triumphs and failures on the internets. :P

She got into all of the Ivies and Stanford, and chose Stanford. The Sal applied ED to Penn, and is going there (although so is about half of our class :p).

We had a about 5 people in our last graduating class that were validictorians.
One girl is going to Penn and I’m not sure where else she was accepted.
As far as everyone else, I don’t think they’re going anywhere that prestigious to be honest.
People at my school don’t have a whole lot of ambition unfortunately.
Even kids with good SATS and in the top 10% end up going to Penn State Main campus because they think that’s the best they can do and they’re afraid to go too far away for college.

To above, my school kind of has the opposite problem. A lot of people have Ivy ambitions, but unfortunately we don’t have the materials available here to weave Ivy cloth. For some reason even our most involved students with record high averages, taking the most rigorous courseloads available, are still rejected from the Ivies. SAT scores might be partially to blame, but I only know how I scored, not how others did.

I was the salutatorian of my class, and I didn’t get into MIT. Valedictorian is going to Springfield College, I’m going to Bentley College. My school is kind of terrible.

2 Vals: 1 to Chicago; 1 to Ohio State
1 Sal: to Ohio State

Ugggh. Miami is losing the war!

Don’t know about Vals or Sals, but this one doofy kid that always would cop free rides for me home is going to Harvard. Guess he was pretty smart.

from memory: (CA Public school)

class of '05 valedictorian: Harvard; salutorian went to UPenn.
class of '06 valedictorian:UC Berkeley; all 4 salutorians went to UC Berkeley.
class of '07; Harvard. salutorians (2) : USC, UC berkeley.
Class of '08: V: USC; Salutorian: UC Berkeley. ton of people from '08 got accepted into UCSD (about 30).

this year like our val went to UPENN and our sal went to Johns hopkins or something.

We had 4.

One full ride to Notre Dame, one to Reed, one to Oregon State and one to BIOLA.

2006: (V) Northwestern with guaranteed entrance to their med school.
2006: (S) Cornell

2007: (V) Princeton
2006: (S) Northeastern (for pharmacy)

2008: (V) Duke (also accepted to Brown, UChicago, JHU, state flagships, and more)
2006: (S) I’m going to Brown! Also accepted to BC and Georgetown (only applied to 5 schools).
