To Write, or not To Write

Hey guys, I know this is being anal, but it is a legitimate concern and I’d appreciate any feedback.

I applied to a lot of the Ivy League schools, HYS, etc. My grades are probably the lowest factor in my admissions, and I’ve gotten 2 B+'s every year and the rest were A’s and A-'s.

In my Midyear’s, I’m going to have a B-. Is this low enough to write a letter explaining why I got that? (there’s a real reason)

Yes or no?

It might be better if you had the guidance counselor write a note on the midyear report, if you feel there are good reasons for the grade.

if its only a B- they would just think its an excuse

whats the reason?

I am very heavily involved in this club on the national, state, and local levels. I had a lot of trips during my first marking period. In my Spanish class, we don't have tests, only essays that have a subjective grading system. The essays were based on discussions held in class, many of which i missed. She even told me the reason I recieved a C+ was because I missed class so much.
