I’m sorry, but what ACT test did you guys take? Surely not a national test…

Lolz: The state mandatory ACT, which was held yesterday.

English: pretty easy
Math: a lot harder than Feb x_x, guessed on like 5-7 at the end haha
Reading: Easy except for the prose fiction passage
Science: pretty easy as well :)

Thanks, jjb123. :)

I took this ACT yesterday. And this is what I thought:

English: Easy

Math: Decent but I just found out that I got at least 2 wrong. But I didn’t really have to guess on any.

Reading: Really easy.

Science: Pretty hard. I mean, the last two passages were pretty hard. And I had to guess on a couple.

I was just glad I finished without having to make any “random” guesses. I think I did pretty well, considering that this was my first ACT.

Does anyone know how long we have to wait before we can see our scores? I would like to see them before I take the April test.

^The estimate right now is 2-2.5 weeks, but don’t quote me on that.

^Thats for online right?

I am so glad some other people made note of our state ACT, cause I was looking to bring it up. ^^ lol

English: EASY, probably easier than all the Red Book practice tests I’ve taken, and I’m expecting a 34-36 on this. ^^

Math: Oh, so mad at this one. I really think that this will be a good 3-5 points below whatever my composite is. It was very difficult after the first 20 questions, and I found myself answering only every other question in some sections (I went back at the end). I had to blind-guess like 3 of them (didn’t get a chance to go back), and I guessed 5 others at least. Hoping for a generous curve. All I can say. XP

Reading: I actually found this test very easy…it almost seemed as if the practice tests I was taking were significantly shorter in time than the real thing, because I worked at a very relaxed pace, and I think I did really well.

Science: Same as reading really. Felt very relaxed, except for one passage that required a lot of thought to work through what some of the questions were asking. But I still managed to finish it all with no guesses. (This used to be my weakest section
)

Writing: The topic was something that I only had to glance at for barely a second to know my opinion and how I would express it, and I think I managed to write it very well. (After AP History test, writings are simple)

So yeah…I’m hoping for 30+, but it is my first test, so I guess I wouldn’t know as well as some others. Let’s get a thread going when scores come in!

wait… since when can you view your “STATE” act scores online? I have an ACT student account but I think they only show you scores for national test dates. My proctor said the scores will be mailed in 5-8 weeks!

@Phanatic

I’m in Michigan too… I don’t know how they manage to pay for our ACTs :P

At first I didn’t even see your location. I just looked at your post and thought, “wow, he must live in Michigan too!”

Anyways, will the scores be out earlier if we use the ACT “hack” thing that I’ve heard so much about?

I though science was stupidly easy, math had some real tough questions i was never even taught on so i had no clue at all, the rest was easy… Best essay topic ever!!!haha

I cant wait for my scores
Live in michigan btw

@Bigb14: I’m not familiar with the ACT hack… what is this? (By the way, no way you could have known this, but I’m female. :))

@R-KATT: I was also wondering if seeing the scores online was too optimistic. I figured that there was a slim chance that the ACT people might match names to online accounts for those who have them. Otherwise, I guess we have to wait that very long time for the mail. :(

Okay, I just found this on the ACT website:

“If you tested through State Testing in Spring 2008 or test through State Testing on any date after that, you will be able to view your scores about a week after you receive your score report in the mail. You need to create your student Web account first. You must provide your ACT ID to access your scores if you chose not to provide your SSN when you tested.”

So, we have to wait a very long time indeed.

Ugh…waiting that amount of time will be torture, because it’s my first one and everything, lol. I’m such a nerd that I’ll be thinking about it until it comes, so I’d like it to be quick. :-(

Ahhh… waiting 5-8 weeks I can’t take it.
The writing prompt was the best ever- soooo easy. But here’s my thing… I took the ACT for the first time in Feb. and got a 35 (:)). Anyways… I had to take it again through the school cause my school is dumb but I was happy with my previous scores so I only tried like 75%. If this score is bad can colleges still see it?

As I understand it, they can’t see this score unless you specifically send it to them. ACT gives you the option to select which testing date scores you want to send to colleges.

how did you guys all think the science was soo easy? I am usually good on the science, but like some of the passages were just hard. The math was not really as hard as everyone was saying it is. But then again, i found out that I got 2 wrong on the math already. I am going to really prep for this APRIL ACT.

I don’t know, the science passages had a lot of large words and stuff, but if you looked at the meanings of the questions, they were pretty basic, so I thought it was easy. (I don’t read the passages other than conflicting viewpoints) ^^; And it’s not so much that the math was hard as it was harder than expected, which probably threw a lot of people off.

so if I’m taking the ACT again first weekend of April… will I get my scores in time?

and about the ACT hack…
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/act-preparation/527283-hack.html?highlight=act+hack

I took the ACT two days ago as well, and here’s how I felt:

English: I was so jittery and definitely overcomplicated it. I’m disappointed ]:
Math: Kind of hard
Reading: Pretty good, the first passage was the hardest
Science: Pretty easy

I’m crossing my fingers for above a 28 so that I don’t have to retake it. But since this was my first official ACT I’m guessing it won’t happen.

So what’s this I hear about being able to get your score in only two weeks?
