i used someone i know's experience, but it seemd a bit cheesy. the second one about how adults are still learning, and that learning's changing...

OH MY GOD i was thinking my essay was pretty good until now....i need to get OFF THIS SITE RIGHT NOW.

This site isn't a diverse enough sample of the test-taking population, chances are the majority of the people here had great examples anyway--so don't be discouraged about your essay. It isn't about non-cheesy examples, it's about writing skill. I saw an essay with two examples, both relating to parents and kids, (this is in the college board Blue Book), and it got a 5 (Which would be a 10).

aristotle's tragic hero, shakespeare's harry percy, and.... college decisions. i know. what a crappy third example. i didnt even finish my conclusion. crap, i was hoping my writing score would make me feel better about my lack of test-taking skills.

I did...
1. Pride and Prejudice
2. Hitler (how he was man of the year in Time or something)
3. Made up experience :-D

Eliza Bennet and Mr. Darcy.

Just P&P

GReat Expectations (how Pip changes greatly) and Benjamin Franklin (rags to riches, and then his authobiography, how he talks about achieving "moral perfection)

FDR great depression and progressive era(Jane addams)

th eInvisible man and Death of a Sales man

i used the bombing of britain and personal experience.

rather than saying i agree or disagree, I took a different approach. It was like "it is only natural to change to fit and adapt to different situations" would that work?

ihateschool007, I'm not trying to freak you or anything but it sound like you kind of went off topic. I hope it okay.

I'm highly puzzled. I'm assuming that in fact the essay you are all referring to was more about inconsistency than change, and if so, I'm highly confused as to what your theses would have been. And like someone else mentioned, this had better be a skewed representation because I'm starting to feel pretty bad about my essay right about now...

also, ps. my proctor gave my room 35 minutes for the essay and never realized it. she was using a clock so I'm assuming she just looked at the wrong number for when she started. or maybe she thought it really was supposed to be 35....

...wasnt the topic on whether change in unlimited or not?

i dont see how any of these could be actual examples...

My essay topic was "is it better to change your beliefs, ideals, or behavior?" So maybe some of those examples fit this essay prompt better?

It apparently is not yet posted on the collegeboard website.

oops, never mind. Apparently I don't read very carefully.
