" Do you agree with the statement that young people do not help their communities nowadays??

Nowadays, people live in communities because they need each other for survival. Besides, community needs people’s help to survive, too. Therefore, they need to give some time to help their communities; otherwise, community may break apart. There is an ongoing argument among disparate people about whether young people nowadays do not give enough time to help their communities.
The opponents of the statement mentioned above assert that the one of the most important reasons that the young people are obsessed with studying is that they want to help their communities. They state that younger ones study to accumulate knowledge in order to solve the problems of society that are remained unsolved because of lack of knowledge. For example, the new technologies that are introducing like smart homes are result of hard working of younger generation to help elder ones in society to live easier.
On the other hand, advocators of the statement think that younger people are more egotist than the older ones. Furthermore, they only care about their needs and their wills. For example, in the past when an old person entered in a bus and there was no seat for her or him, younger ones who have seats were willing to stand up in order to give their places for the old person who has entered. But this is not happening anymore.
Moreover, the advocators of the idea mention that because of the problems and changes that young generation is facing today they choose to be indifferent about their communities. A lot of young ones are forced to work for their families because of the lack of appropriate job for their parents in society. This breeds them to be angry with society. Therefore it breeds that they be unwilling to help their communities. But in the past people's expectation levels were lower and they never quit their jobs because of this reason. Also, they are forced by their parents to study very hard in schools and universities to be able to find good jobs in future, so this leaves no time for them to help their communities. For example, a teenager who has to put all of his time for exams, paper assignments, etc, as result, he does not find any free time to help his community. However, in the past most of the young ones never have obligation to study.
To put the issue into perspective, I contend to the advocators of the idea that nowadays young people do not give enough time to help their communities first because of the problems and changes that they are faced, second because of their self-centered personalities
