Aghh... I'm an international student having a real panic attack right now...!

Previously I was told before that I didn't have to take TOEFL if I told the university that English was my 1st language. However, my brother just told me that if you have to take it if your international and you don't have a 650 or above in CR for the SATI. My CR is 600, but my W is 700.. and it's not like I have bad english or anything. I got As for my GCSE English Language and English Literature and I speak, read, write English like any other English-native speaker.

The deadline is so near.. I don't know if i'll have enough time to do it, especially with christmas round the corner. Can anyone give me some advice PLZ?

Contact the admissions office...somehow I doubt that anyone on CC has a sure answer to your question. Don't stress out too much in the meantime, the test shouldn't be a problem for you if you have to take it. I thumbed through my friend's TOEFL book once and as a native English speaker it was hilariously easy. It is meant to test English as a foreign language, after all.

Contact the admissions office. But I say take it ASAP anyway. It takes 2-3 weeks for the TOEFL score report. Plus their customer service is terrible! There was a malfunction when I registered, and my dad ended up having to pay for TWO testings (sorry dad)! Luckily we were able to call, and they refunded the other $140.

Even if the universities don't ask for it, it's still going to be useful. The score is "good" for 2 years, so you can use it to apply as a transfer student if you like.

It's pretty clearly specified that you don'tneed to takeitif the lst 4 years of your education 9ie high school) have been in english.
as far as i know the 650+ exemption only applies if english is obviously a 2nd language (ie, high school has been in a dif language).

i would guess gcse a's= its prettyobvious you're ok at it? i got an a* eng and an a lit (2 marks off a* argh) and i didn't even consider having to take the toefl. i did get 800 cr though so meh.
