Hi guys!

Do you also have a problem signing up for a test at ets.org? I always get a message to try later! It sucks!

Gery

It works fine here (up to selection of the test center, didn't try any further).
Just keep trying. In a week or so it will work again ...

Up to selection of the test center work for me too! When I select a test center I get a "try later" message.

"In a week or so it will work again " What? I need to sign up for the March 7th test!

It's better if you contact your testing center directly through the telephone. The ETS site's unreliable at best.

I tried again and got the point when I was asked to select the score recipients. It really seems to work for me.
The last time it didn't work I couldn't access my profile for about two weeks... As k_twin suggested, don't rely on it.

Today I called them (the TOEFL support center in Nederland) and they can not register me too! :(

ETS sucks. sucks sucks sucks.

gery, I had that problem in December when I was trying to sign up for TOEFL. In the end, I just gave up and didn't take it ;)

it has always been like this. always. be prepared and allow for a couple more days/weeks before the latest registration day.

ETS sucks even worse in TOEFL registration that in SAT registration.

SAT registration is great - i don't understand why Collegeboard can't buy the TOEFL exams too! Sending scores to more than 4 colleges is a pain too!

Probably because the TOEFL is more expensive to create and administer and less students take it than the SAT.

Native speakers of English who take the test often find themselves with mediocre results, even in multiple choice questions. Ideally, a test for English proficiency should be simple and straightforward for a native speaker. Instead, such tests often focus on obscure rules of grammar and "proper" uses. For example, the use of "can" and "may" does have a formal rule, but native English speakers not only ignore the formal use on most occasions, they are never confused when another speaker switches the two.

I found that on wikipedia about the TOEFL. What do you think about that?

(P.S. Sorry for hijacking your thread)

yeah... its sucks... i did have all does problem, probably contacting the test center is the best choice

If you are asking about SAT v/s TOEFL then these are the results:)

TOEFL sucks- 35,500 Google results
SAT sucks - 1,550,000 Google results
