Does anyone know how long it takes for the score to be mailed to the colleges you list @ the testing center? (from the time you take the exam)

two months from my experience.

u never know 2 weeks to 3 months and still waiting!

Hey, why do I see space for only 8 institutions on the score report request. What if I wanna send my score report to more than 8 schools?? How will I do that?

If you want to reply to more than 8, you will have to download another form from the website. Go to toefl.org and use the search box. That was the case for me, but I took the paper-based version so things may be different if you took the computer-based.
TOEFL guys are quite inefficient compared to SAT guys. Don't know why, because doesn't ETS organize both? I was quite annoyed with them - I took both TOEFL and SAT this year and SAT people were much nicer in email replies, quicker in sending scores - I mean, you can't order scores to be sent online for TOEFL-PBT! Stupid!

Thanks madfox. I thought I must use the request form in the bulletin. So we can download and print the form from toefl web site? that's great! I also took the paper-based versiona nd haven't received the score report.

If you want to send additional TOEFL score reports the fastest way to do so is ordering them by phone. The schools will receive the reports 4 days after you called, but this service is very expensive: 15$ per school you want it to be sent to and 12$ for the phone call. You can only have the score sent to 6 schools per call.

TOEFL is expensive. And pretty unnecessary too. i mean if i can get an 800 in my SAT verbal, why should i have to give the stupid exam anyway?

You don't - I don't think any college will want you to take the TOEFL if you get 800 in Verbal.

sad. i took the toefl b4 i took the sat. And paid the 120 dollars. im such an IDIOT

I took the computer - based TOEFL at the end of October, and I got my score today. However, they've mailed it out from New Jersey exactly two weeks after my test date, so it took about a week to reach me. But I'm happy that I know my score has already reached Columbia since New York is so close to New Jersey. ^^

From your experience, how long did it take for ETS to send out to TOEFL scores (for those institutions which you requested to send official scores to during the test)? And if you send them by phone, is it much faster?

help?? please?

"TOEFL is expensive. And pretty unnecessary too. i mean if i can get an 800 in my SAT verbal, why should i have to give the stupid exam anyway?"

Exactly.I talked to a few univs wher they required toefl,They said that they wud waive it for me,coz I got 770 in V and 800 Wr

Yeah I didn't take toefl too, as the scores and board exam marks are enough (+ we are in english schools in india).

As for score reports, I remember someone mentioned that you can just send attested photocopies of your score report and the colleges wont mind it (i think hello said that).

I didnt say that!!!

Well the point is, I still need to get my official reports from them since i just took it yesterday. I want to know if it's faster for these reports to reach unis if i request it by fax, or phone?

they'll probably take the same time.

I would suggest you do it by phone coz its more reliable, but mind you it is expensive : the service is automated so it takes abt 15 min (intl charges) to get your work done.

If cash is a problem do it by fax

Are toefl on specific dates? Or can you make a appoinment when you want?
If I get sat 600 verbal, do you think colleges will waive the toefl for me??
Can you take Toefl in the summer vacation??

And one last question, on the financial form, theres only place for 4 colleges to fill in, how can I add more colleges??

Depends on where you live, but the CBT toefl can be taken on any date. It
s not like the SAT where you can only take it on specific dates (like 7 times a year or sthing) In most cases, you can take it once a month. You can
t take it more than once a month, or your scores will be eliminated. Check the offical site for more info and when/where you can take the test. It` s the easiet way to get info.

You should ask the colleges you are applying to if you can get the TOEFL waiver with you score. It depends on the school. However, a near-perfect TOEFL score never hurts. Unless you have like above a 700 or sthing on the verbal SAT, I would say you should take it.
